A media company that owns newspapers surrounding the Sacramento region has bought the local newspapers in Roseville, Auburn, Loomis, Folsom and Lincoln. A company linked to Vancouver, British Columbia-based Alta Newspaper Group, which owns newspapers throughout California and Canada, bought 11 more California newspapers from San Diego-based Brehm Communications Inc., which had owned the cluster of local news outlets called Gold Country Media. 'We are pleased to acquire these esteemed properties from the Brehm Communications family,' said Steven Malkowich, an executive with Vancouver-based Alta Newspaper Group and its subsidiary Gold Mountain California News Media Inc.
